REVIVE RETREAT IS HERE

REVIVE RETREAT IS HERE

16 Someone came to Jesus with this question: “Teacher, what good deed must I do to have eternal life?” 17 “Why ask me about what is good?” Jesus replied. “There is only One who is good. But to answer your question—if you want to receive eternal life, keep the commandments.” 18 “Which ones?” the man asked. And Jesus replied: “‘You must not murder. You must not commit adultery. You must not steal. You must not testify falsely. 19 Honor your father and mother. Love your neighbor as yourself." 20 “I’ve obeyed all these commandments,” the young man replied. “What else must I do?” 21 Jesus told him, “If you want to be perfect, go and sell all your possessions and give the money to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me.” 22 But when the young man heard this, he went away sad, for he had many possessions. Matthew 19

For 40 days I have blogged in preparation of leading a retreat for students. The blogs have ministered to the leaders of the retreat but have found a home with allot of people. I appreciate the kind words and feedback all of you have given me. This has jump started my ministry of teaching again and I look forward to continuing to teach what God lays on my heart.

As I suspected, the enemy has tried his best to attack me as we get closer to the retreat. Yesterday, the devil tried his best to get me down about how much money Kim and I were investing in this retreat. It was starting to work before I took time to take it to God. During my time with God a thought came to mind that changed everything: how much is a soul worth, and how much would I invest to see a group of kids changed into servants for the Kingdom?

This took me back to my sermon I preached Sunday on the "rich young ruler." He had everything he needed in the worlds view. But he needed more to be fulfilled inside. It made me realize that I could never out give God for what He has given me. He has given me a beautiful family, grace and the ability and calling to teach others His word.

He also has taught me not to look at what others are doing in respect to what I can do for His Kingdom. He has taught me to look at Him and be fulfilled. So often, we have to look at our parents, our husbands or wives or significant others to be fulfilled. Sometimes we look at our children to complete or fulfill us. Jesus said in the text, "follow me" if you want to be complete.

WE NEED TO LOOK AT HIM TO FIND OUR COMPLETENESS. THAT'S WHERE OUR TREASURE IS.

Daddy, forgive me for getting frustrated with other things. Keep my mind and eyes on you. For you complete me. I don't have to depend on others, I have to depend on YOU. You are faithful and will bring a return back to me that is unmeasurable. Daddy, your will be done during this retreat. Let us reach the place that have been untouchable to these students. Spirit, move in might ways.

Your son,

Jody
